The only exception to the rules is when a visit to Singapore does not exceed 96 hours, then it is regarded as a transit.
If you plan to stay in Singapore for no more than 30 days, you will need a regular tourist visa. However, even if you plan to stay there for a long time, you still need to get a short-term visa first.
Singapore issues electronic visa that is an official permit to visit the Republic of Singapore. Each electronic visa has a unique identification number and contains information with the personal data of an applicant, the validity of the visa and the number of days allowed to be spent on the territory of the country. A tourist visa to Singapore can be issued at the Singapore Embassy in Moscow or through accredited agencies.
If Singapore is not the ultimate goal of your trip and the duration of your stay in the country does not exceed 96 hours, you do not need visa, because this is considered as transit.
For transit, you must have the following documents:

  • Valid foreign passport with a validity period of at least 6 months at the time of entry into Singapore;
  • Confirmed ticket to the 3rd country;
  • Visa or other proof of the trip to the 3rd country;
  • Sufficient amount of money to stay in Singapore.

When applying for a visa through the Embassy of Singapore, you must provide the following:

  • Valid foreign passport with a validity period of at least 6 months at the time of entry into Singapore;
  • Correctly filled questionnaires of 14А Form (you can get them in the embassy, or download on mfa.gov.sg website) with one color identity photo;
  • A valid air ticket and confirmation of accommodation or the invitation from the citizen of Singapore, a registered Singapore company / travel agency / person permanently residing in Singapore, or a foreign citizen holding a valid document confirming the status of a permanent resident of Singapore;
  • Registration fee and payment of the visa.

  • Completed website form;
  • Copy of the passport;
  • Photo;

As a rule, visa requests are processed within 1-3 business days. The Consulate of Singapore usually issues a multiple visa valid for 30 to 90 days, starting from the date of issue of the document. In this case, you are allowed to stay no more than 30 days in the country.
It is important to remember that the validity of the visa is counted from the moment of its approval, so there is no need to issue a visa too early.
